The Laboratory of Life, Part II

Happy Aquarian New Moon (again)! Did you come up with any experiments after last month's New Moon missive? How are they going?

I generally have several ongoing experiments (usually to do with sleep/energy, productivity, health, skincare, and learning) at any one time, but I decided to come up with a few experiments for the last New Moon anyway.

Right now, three experiments have been completed or are in progress. Still, in the past month, I've learnt that while I've had these things at back of my mind for a while, I've actually lost interest in two of them, because as time passed, what they signify has changed.

On the flip side, there are two other items that seem so huge, I've been too intimidated to do anything, but they are frequently on my mind (= total waste of energy), so clearly, some kind of action *must* happen here, for things to move along.

This exercise reminded me that although decluttering in any form can be useful, choosing where and how I want to focus my attention/energy creates greater impact on changing my life, i.e. practice extreme consciousness in what I say yes to, and everything else is most likely a no. Slightly oversimplified, but that's the gist of it. (Btw, this is related to what scientists call 'decision fatigue', check that out if you've not come across it before.)

What did you learn from your experiments? If you didn't try this exercise last month, now's as a good a time as any to give it a shot

The themes of innovation, (re)invention and revolution continue from last month, and with this New Moon, the cosmic message is that while we need plans and frameworks to move in the direction we want to go, we also need to be flexible, be open to receiving new information / inspiration / intuition, and be willing to tweak your plans as what you know changes. Now's not the time to be stubborn. Channel Bruce Lee: "... the stiffest tree is most easily cracked, while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind."

Heads Up: Pressure Cooker's Back

This is an alert to charge up your batteries and prepare for a fairly intense March, especially if April and September 2014 were challenging for you. Pluto and Uranus clash for one final showdown in March, before the energy starts easing after April.

For most people, it's that area of your life (let's call it X) that's been challenging you since 2011 (for some, it would have started as early as 2009). The cosmos is asking you: have you been brutally honest with yourself about X? Have you set in motion the changes that are necessary for a brand new, revolutionised, authentic-to-the-core X?

Yes, this energy can be hard to handle, but it is also a precious opportunity to get unstuck. The way to work with it is to face it head on. Take off the blinders and strip things down to the pure, raw truth. No denial, no resistance. Ideally, throw out everything that doesn't work, or else, do what is possible, and then focus on setting things up as authentically as you can.

And when I say prepare, I mean decide now, the state you'd want to BE, or what you'd DO, if your challenge does happen to resurface. For example, I know my list will include: be calm, be confident. Possibly take control ;) Yours would probably be very different, e.g. surrender, be funny, be friendly, etc. Only you know best what will work for you. What challenges have you been facing? Approach them with this mindset.

To put things in context, we're not going to see these two planets clash again until 2045, so even if what you're facing seems hard now, don't back down. Seriously, because between the current clashes and the future ones, this was the easy round ;) So, believe in yourself, and trust that you have it in you to create
a life that is best aligned to your authentic self.

Email me if you want to share your thoughts.

Blessings, and Happy Lunar New Year if you're celebrating that too!
