Start Your Astro-New Year Right!

It's the New Moon in Aries, so... Happy Astro New Year!

Kind of weird thinking it's the new year at this point in the year, isn't it? Somehow I love the idea that in at least 7 out of 12 months, some people somewhere are celebrating a new year :)

The Astrological New Year

The astrological new year is cosmically significant, unlike January 1, so take the opportunity at this new moon to reset/refresh things in your life.

Write any grievances, resentments, and general unpleasantness, down on paper. You can also include things that aren't necessarily 'bad' but no longer serve a purpose in your life. Anything you want to let go of. Burn what you wrote. Safely, please! Tearing it up is also option.

Imagine everything being released and transformed into love and peace. After that, you can meditate on what you'd like to invite more of into your life.

You can also write your invitation on paper, put it in an envelope and keep it sealed till the next Aries moon. I should highlight opening this invitation a year later can be equally motivating and discouraging—that's how I felt when I opened my one-year invitations in the past. In the long view though, it's not that important. What's important is to keep your sense of perspective.

(set your intentions at/after the new moon)

I'd wanted to create a page with a list of all the Arian-aligned activities you could do at/near the New Moon for you, but life got overly crazy, so here's a quick list:

  • Try out or pick up a new sport or physical activity. Double the length or intensity of your usual work out. If you don't usually exercise, then try a 10-minute walk or something along those lines.
  • Touch base with your childhood loves. Btw, I mean hobbies, and whatever you had fun doing, not boy/girlfriends ;) Imagine what it'd be like if you had the chance to dabble in them again.
  • Make a list of all the activities, significant memories, and people who inspire courage in you, then keep it close at hand and refer to it often.
  • Get conscious about recognising where you are making progress, even if in the big picture it sometimes doesn't seem or feel that way. Remember that awareness is also a kind of progress.

Astro-Notes

Stay Grounded (21 ~ 25 April)
Some unknown information comes to light, and it may be surprising, shocking even. Trust your intuition. Do not venture into fantasy territory. If action needs to be taken, examine your options and pick what offers you the most possibilities further down the road. Be pragmatic.

Keep Your Cool (mid-April ~ end June)
Remember the three letters Z, E, N, above all else. Mercury retrograde can increase the incidences of miscommunication, delays, breakdowns—you might feel it more if you're Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius. Combine that with Mars (think 'warrior mode') retrograde, and foot-in-the-mouth disease seems rather inevitable. Whatever it is, do not pick a fight. Change the filter with which you view the situation. Choose your sanity over drama. Exact dates for Mercury are April 28 till May 22.

Revisit & Renew (Late March ~ mid-August)
You have a chance during this period to revisit situations and projects that began around Christmas 2014 and early 2015. Re-examine objectives and purpose. Seek clarity, especially on obstacles and pitfalls. Figure out what structures or arrangements (not necessarily complicated, you just need a plan) you can set up to reduce risk. There is an opportunity for growth and healing, but it's not going to just drop from the sky. Effort and patience is part of this deal.

Getting to Know You
Lately, the things at the top of my habit wishlist are: better quality sleep, and a regular gratitude practice. I'm going to be digging around reading up on it, so hit 'reply' (just write the topic if you have nothing else to say ;)) if you'd like me to keep you in the loop.

What about you? What 1-3 habits do you have on your wishlist right now?

As always, thank YOU for reading. Please share this with your friends if they might get something out of it. Thanks~ :)

Email me to let me know what you did at this New Moon!

Blessings,
Julia
